Iran animation ‘Release from Heaven’ to be screened at Cannes

Iranian animation ‘Release from Heaven’ is to be screened at the inauguration ceremony of Cannes International Film Festival’s Animation Day section.

Directed by Ali Nouri Oskui, the animation is to vie at the competition section of the event as well as the Cannes film market.

The 76-minute ‘Release from Heaven’ will compete with films from Japan, Korea and France.

Set in a war torn country, the animation narrates the story of a female writer and teacher who has to accompany two of her students on a life changing journey.

The 70th edition of Cannes Film Festival will be organized on May 17-28, 2017 in the French city of Cannes.
